Mom 4 Life, Amy Keffer, tells of a tradition between her husband and her daughter, Emily Grace, that will inspire even the busiest dads to carve out some time to build precious, lifelong memories with their children. Every Saturday morning, Amy’s husband would let her sleep in while he took Emma to the kitchen where they began their weekly cookie-baking tradition. At just a few months old, Emily would observe her daddy’s baking from her infant seat (which was similar to the Bumbo) on the countertop, and as she got older she became the official Cookie Taster. Amy says that “the memories of this loving tradition are even sweeter than the cookies (though the cookies are awfully good).” Whether it’s baking cookies, playing a special game or having a daddy-child song, encourage your husband to create a tradition with your children. It is sure to be something they will never forget.
